The league today announced that Alex Nedeljkovic has been named CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for January.

The third-year pro, who leads the league in wins with 21 this season, was a perfect 6-0-0 during the month of January while posting a goals-against average of 1.78 and a save percentage of .937. Nedeljkovic put up two shutouts of the year over that stretch, becoming the franchise’s all-time leader along the way.

A second-round pick in 2014, Nedeljkovic also made his first NHL start for Carolina in January and picked up a win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Nedeljkovic is the fifth player in franchise history to earn one of the league’s monthly awards – the first since Janne Kuokkanen was named Rookie of the Month in February of last season – and is just the second Goaltender of the Month winner, joining Tom McCollum who won the honor in March of the 2016-17 campaign.
