Michal Jordan
His services not needed in Carolina after all, the Hurricanes have reassigned defenseman Michal Jordan to Charlotte.

In his first recall of the season, Jordan, a top-pairing defenseman for the Checkers, did not play in the Hurricanes’ 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Tuesday. Brought in as a precaution in case one or more of the NHL club’s defensemen were forced to join Justin Faulk and John-Michael Liles, Jordan was with the team for just one day.

Jordan is expected to join the Checkers for Wednesday’s road game against the Texas Stars, meaning that his brief trip to Carolina will not cost him an AHL game.

Jordan, a 23-year-old, fourth-year pro, played his first five NHL games with Carolina last season. An AHL All-Star last season, he has 71 points (17g, 54a) in 250 career AHL games, having just reached that milestone in the Checkers’ last game against San Antonio on Sunday.
