But the fun didn’t stop there as more than 300 scouts stayed at the arena for a sleepover following the game. The boys watched "D3: The Mighty Ducks" on the Time Warner Cable Arena video board before settling down in their beds and sleeping bags on boards laid on top of the ice surface.
Checkers forwards A.J. Jenks and David Rutherford also visited the boy scouts after the game to talk about leadership and take part in a question and answer session.
“It was a fun event and one that was beneficial for the scout troops,” said Checkers group sales specialist Zack St. Clair. “The boys learned a lot about hard work and dedication from the Checkers players who spoke and got to watch a movie on a 30-foot screen."
