The Checkers captain is headed for Raleigh, as the Hurricanes have recalled Patrick Brown from Charlotte.

The fourth-year pro has logged four points (1g, 3a) for the Checkers this season, playing in all nine of the teams games thus far. Brown, who was named team captain for the second consecutive season, has totaled 67 points over 205 AHL games with Charlotte during his career.

He now heads to Carolina where he has logged 28 NHL games, including a career-high 14 last season. An undrafted product out of Boston College, Brown has appeared in an NHL game in each of his first three pro seasons.

The Hurricanes are traveling out west for games against Colorado on Thursday and Arizona on Saturday before returning home for three of their next four. The Checkers, who received rookie forward Janne Kuokkanen from Carolina yesterday, set out on a three-week road trip starting Friday in Belleville.
