The Hurricanes today assigned Haydn Fleury to the Charlotte Checkers.
The third-year defenseman appeared in both road games last weekend for Charlotte and scored his first goal of the season in Saturday’s win over Hartford. So far this season Fleury has logged 13 games with the Checkers and put up four points (1g, 3a) along the way.
Fleury, who was recalled to the NHL yesterday before being assigned back Friday, has one assist in 12 NHL games this season.
The Checkers kick off a four-game home stand with a matchup against Providence Friday.
