Following last night’s tight 2-1 loss to Manitoba, the Hurricanes have recalled netminder Eddie Lack from his conditioning stint in Charlotte.

Lack, in his first game action since Nov. 10, appeared in both contests for the Checkers this weekend, going 1-1-0 and surrendering just three total goals. He now returns to Carolina, where he had missed 26 of the last 30 games due to a concussion.

In a separate move, the Checkers have assigned Daniel Altshuller to the ECHL’s Florida Everblades. With Charlotte getting the next week off for the AHL All-Star break, the move gives Altshuller, who has played just once since Jan. 10, a chance for some extra practices and games with Florida.

The Checkers return to action Friday, Feb. 3 at Tucson, while Michael Leighton will spend tonight and tomorrow representing the Checkers at the AHL All-Star Classic, which can be watched for free on AHL Live or on Spectrum Sports/TWC SportsChannel in the Carolinas.
