The Checkers today announced their initial training camp roster.

The list includes the 12 players assigned from Carolina to Charlotte on Saturday – forwards Clark Bishop, Warren Foegele, Steven Lorentz, Andrew Poturalski, Nick Schilkey, Spencer Smallman and Sergey Tolchinsky, defensemen Tyler Ganly, Keegan Kanzig and Josh Wesley and goaltenders Callum Booth and Alex Nedeljkovic.

Additionally, seven more skaters were assigned to Charlotte today – forwards Andrew Miller, Patrick Brown and Julien Gauthier and defensemen Dennis Robertson, Philip Samuelsson, Roland McKeown and Brenden Kichton.

They are joined by Charlotte’s group of AHL-contracted players – forwards Mitchell Heard and Zack Stortini, defensemen Josiah Didier and Matt Finn and goaltender Martin Ouellette – as well as three training camp invites – Mike Ferrantino, who was signed to an AHL deal with Charlotte last season and spent his entire rookie campaign with the ECHL’s Florida Everblades, Justin Kea, a former third-round pick who spent his first three pro seasons split between the AHL and ECHL, and Brett Bulmer, a veteran of 200 AHL games who spent last season overseas.
