Rychel has 289 AHL games under his belt for Springfield, Lake Erie, Toronto, Laval and Stockton, racking up 197 points (78g, 119a) along the way. The 25-year-old was named to the AHL All-Star Game in 2015-16 and helped guide the Lake Erie Monsters to a Calder Cup that same year, playing alongside current Checker Anton Forsberg. He is coming off one of the most productive seasons of his career, having set a career high with 23 goals and posting 43 points in 57 games for the Heat.
The California native has also logged 14 points (3g, 11a) in 43 NHL games over his career with Columbus, Montreal and Calgary. Rychel’s most recent venture was in the KHL, where he appeared in seven games for Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik to start this season.
Prior to turning pro Rychel spent four seasons in the OHL, amassing 271 points (122g, 149a) in 256 games with Mississauga, Windsor and Guelph. He helped guide the Storm to an OHL title in 2013-14 alongside former Checker and current Hurricane Brock McGinn and was named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team.
