Hurricanes agree to terms with Charlotte Checkers captain Patrick Brown
The Checkers’ captain is returning to the fold, as the Hurricanes have agreed to terms on a two-way contract with center Patrick Brown.

The 25-year-old, who was slated to become an unrestricted free agent on Saturday, has spent the last three seasons in the Carolina organization. Brown took another step forward with Charlotte this past campaign, setting career highs in assists (16) and points (28) and tying for sixth on the club in scoring while serving as team captain. The Boston College product has recorded 63 points (27g, 36a) in 196 AHL games with the Checkers over his career.

Brown has also made NHL appearances in each of his three pro seasons, including a career-best 14 games in 2016-17. Overall he has logged a pair of points in 28 total contests with the Hurricanes.
