Another piece of Charlotte’s red-hot blue line is back in the fold, as the Hurricanes have agreed to terms with Philip Samuelsson.

The 25-year-old defenseman joined the Checkers in late February from the Montreal Canadiens organization in exchange for Keegan Lowe. Samuelsson clicked with his new team, recording 14 points in 25 games with Charlotte and helping to push the Checkers to the postseason.

The son of former Checkers head coach Ulf Samuelsson, Philip has six pro seasons under his belt and has built up some solid numbers, notching 115 points in 369 AHL games Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Portland, Springfield, St. John’s and Charlotte.
