The Hurricanes have brought back another piece from last year’s Checkers team by re-signing Andrew Poturalski to a one-year, two-way contract.

Poturalski set a career high with 22 goals last season, ranking fourth on the team in both goals and points. The 24-year-old also became one of nine players in franchise history to appear in every game during a season by logging 76 games played this past season.

Additionally, the forward picked up five points in eight games during the Checkers’ 2018 Calder Cup playoff run.

"Andrew has shown skill and durability during his time in Charlotte," said Hurricanes GM Don Waddell. "He has continued to improve his game each season and we hope he can take another step forward next year."
