Brenden Kichton
The Hurricanes added another piece to their defensive pipeline, agreeing to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Brenden Kichton.

The 25-year-old has spent the first four seasons of his pro career in the Winnipeg system, totaling 141 points (30g, 111a) in 272 AHL contests. Last season Kichton ranked second among Manitoba blue liners with 23 points.

Kichton, a seventh-round pick by the Jets in 2013, made his biggest splash during his first pro campaign, getting named to both the AHL All-Star Game and the AHL All-Rookie Team and leading all league rookies in helpers.

Prior to turning pro, the Alberta native was a standout defenseman for the WHL’s Spokane Chiefs, racking up 268 points in 333 games.
