Allenbrook Elementary BELL Program

The Checkers joined over 50 students at Allenbrook Elementary for hockey on June 23 as part of an incentive for scholars in their BELL (Building Excellent Leaders for Life) program.

“[BELL] will serve nearly 4,000 scholars in Charlotte this summer via the Read to Achieve READy Program, Project LIFT Summer Programs and additional programs with individual school partners," said Director of Program Operations Rossi Volley. "[Bell]'s goal is to provide as much exposure and learning experiences as possible during our 5-6 week summer program.”

The Checkers look forward to continuing the growth of hockey with the BELL program next week at the Briarwood Elementary location.

Kickoff at the Harris YMCA

The Charlotte Checkers kicked off the summer hockey clinic series at the Harris YMCA on June 16. Over 60 campers learned hockey basics and ran through drills before going head to head in scrimmages.

The summer hockey clinic series will be taking place on Thursdays throughout the summer with various organizations including: BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life) programs at Allenbrook Elementary, Briarwood Elementary and Winding Springs Elementary, and the Harris and Morrison YMCA locations listed below.
