First Goal Youth Hockey Program
Registration is now open for the Carolina Hurricanes’ First Goal youth hockey program, which will hold two sessions at Bojangles' Coliseum starting on Sept. 11, 2019.

UPDATE: BOTH SESSIONS ARE SOLD OUT

Both sessions provide first-time participants in hockey aged 5-9 with brand-new, head-to-toe equipment and seven on-ice instructional hockey sessions – all for just $145. The program will be held on Wedensdays and Mondays ending Oct 2., with one session going from 5-6 p.m. and the other from 6-7 p.m.

All participants will receive a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, pants, shin pads, socks, skates, a jersey, an equipment bag and a stick, plus two tickets to a Checkers game.

The First Goal program is open to first-time players who have not already participated in any other Learn to Play program, including a previous First Goal session. Previous skating experience is highly recommended but not required.

To register or receive more information, please visit the Hurricanes' First Goal page.

The program, a joint initiative between the Carolina Hurricanes, the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association in conjunction with the league-wide Learn to Play program, is designed to create a fun and effective program and to reduce cost barriers for first-time participants (those who have not previously been registered to a USA Hockey or Hockey Canada sanctioned minor program).
