Kelsey Young
Young, who joined the Checkers as group sales coordinator in the fall of 2013, is responsible for coordinating, managing, executing, and servicing outings for businesses, churches, schools, youth sports teams, social clubs and more. Kelsey is especially passionate about organizing fundraisers for schools, non-profits, and other groups in the Charlotte area as well as assisting with the Checkers' community initiatives. Before coming to Charlotte, she previously interned with the Harrisburg Senators, the Washington Redskins, the West Virginia University baseball team and SportsBUZZ - a social media management firm for professional athletes.

Originally from Ashburn, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C., Young graduated from West Virginia University in 2013 with a B.S in sport management and a minor in advertising. While at WVU, she served as the president of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. After growing up outside of D.C., Young quickly fell in love with the slower “city” lifestyle in Charlotte and now considers herself a lover of all things Queen City, especially NASCAR. “My favorite thing about Charlotte besides the Checkers,” she says, “is that I can wear my cowboy boots anytime, anywhere.”

As a kid, you dreamed of becoming: A veterinarian
Name one thing on your bucket list Hang out with the Robertsons from Duck Dynasty
If you were an animal, what would you be? A polar bear so I could hang out with Chubby all day, duh!
First CD/tape *N sync - the self-titled debut album, which I still have
Favorite food Onions. No meal is complete without them
Favorite movie A tie between This Is 40 and the most recent Batman movies
Favorite pro/college sports team The one and only West Virginia University (located in the actual state of West Virginia, not the western part of Virginia like ESPN thinks it is). My favorite professional team is the Washington Nationals, but I'm also a fan of anyone playing against the Yankees, the Cowboys, or the University of Pittsburgh
Favorite type of music Country, but I like pretty much everything
Favorite band There are too many to name, but the Blackberry Smoke Pandora station is my go to
Favorite book Any book written by or about the Robertsons. I seriously love Duck Dynasty.
Fun fact I am a gun shootin' woman with an awesome shot. Watch out!

Also, I am a diehard WVU fan and never missed a home football game during my four years. I like to think that Country Roads is my personal anthem.
