Charlotte Checkers Pink in the Rink
The Charlotte Checkers today announced that their annual Pink in the Rink event, held this season on Feb. 12 and 13 in conjunction with two home games at Bojangles’ Coliseum, raised more than $30,000 for the fight against breast cancer.

Funds raised through a portion of ticket proceeds and a live auction of special pink jerseys worn by Checkers players will benefit several local non-profits including the Novant Health Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center, Cindy’s Hope Chest, Carolina Breast Friends, Shirley’s Angels and Go Jen Go. The jersey auction alone raised nearly $20,000.

With the 2016 event marking the 10th consecutive season in which the Checkers have hosted a Pink in the Rink event, the team, its fans and its players have now helped raise a total of $315,000 for the cause.
