After suffering an injury earlier in NHL training camp, defenseman Chase Priskie has now been assigned to Charlotte.

The 23-year-old blue liner, who was drafted in the sixth round by Washington in 2016 but did not sign with the Capitals, signed with Carolina as a free agent this summer.

A Florida native, Priskie spent four years at Quinnipiac where he recorded 116 points (39g, 77a) in 154 games and served as team captain his junior and senior years. Over his college career Priskie earned conference postseason accolades each year, earning a spot on the All-Rookie Team in 2015-16, the Third All-Star Team in 2016-17, the Second All-Star Team in 2017-18 and the First All-Star Team in 2018-19. He also was named a Hobey Baker Award finalist in his senior year and helped lead the Bobcats to a conference title and the National Championship game his freshman year.

Additionally, the Checkers have released Brien Diffley and Jack Stander from their tryouts.
