The move comes after Justin Faulk and Calvin de Haan were both ruled day-to-day with injuries sustained yesterday.

The 22-year-old Fleury has logged five points (2g, 3a) and 28 penalty minutes over 22 games with the Checkers this season. He now returns to the NHL where he has appeared in 12 games for the Hurricanes this season, picking up an assist along the way.

The 20-year-old Bean leads all Checkers blue liners with 33 points (10g, 23a) in 56 games, a total that ranks second among all rookie defensemen across the league. The rookie made his NHL debut earlier this season and has appeared in two games for the Hurricanes this season. The Checkers, who host Binghamton for two games this weekend starting Friday, currently have five healthy options at defense, while Roland McKeown – who was ruled day-to-day with an injury last week – participated in Wednesday’s practice in a yellow no-contact jersey.
