Now recovered from an injury that has kept him out of the Hurricanes’ lineup since Jan. 3, Clark Bishop will next hit the ice for the Checkers, perhaps as soon as tonight’s home game against the Toronto Marlies.

Presented by First National Bank
The movement between leagues will be nothing new for Bishop, who has now been involved in 12 separate transactions between the Carolina Hurricanes, who reassigned him late Friday night, and the Checkers. The 22-year-old center has split his third professional season between the teams, playing his first 20 NHL games for Carolina and an additional 15 times for the Checkers, most recently on Dec. 22.

The hard-working center who has posted five points (3g, 2a) and 29 penalty minutes for the Checkers this season will have an opportunity to suit up for the upcoming doubleheader against the defending Calder Cup champion Marlies at Bojangles’ Coliseum tonight (6 p.m.) and Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.).
