As they head into a road trip through Western Canada, the Hurricanes have recalled Haydn Fleury from Charlotte.

Fleury skated in seven games for the Checkers during his most recent stint with the team, logging a pair of assists and helping Charlotte to a 5-1-1 record over that stretch.

The 22-year-old blue liner, who joined the Checkers after recovering from a concussion that kept him out of the Canes’ lineup for several weeks, now returns to Carolina where he has appeared in 10 games this season.

The Checkers close out their home stand Sunday with an afternoon rematch against Toronto. Despite the loss of Fleury Charlotte’s deep blue line has multiple healthy options to replace him as both Dennis Robertson and Bobby Sanguinetti were extras Saturday night.
