The Carolina Hurricanes continued to trim their roster Wednesday, assigning forwards Julien Gauthier and Clark Bishop and defenseman Jake Bean to Charlotte.

Gauthier and Bishop join the Checkers for their second and third seasons, respectively, with the former coming off a rookie campaign that saw him rank sixth on the team with 16 goals and the latter coming off a career-best 28 point performance. Bean is set to start his fist full pro season after appearing in one postseason game for Charlotte last year.

Additionally, the Hurricanes have placed Trevor Carrick on waivers. Should he clear Thursday at noon, he would join the Checkers.
