A season-high crowd of 12,948 was on hand for the seventh annual Presbyterian Hospital Pink in the Rink Saturday when the Checkers hosted the San Antonio Rampage. More than $50,000 was donated to local women’s cancer charities Go Jen Go, Carolina Breast Friends, Cindy’s Hope Chest and the Presbyterian Hospital Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center.

The players and officials wore pink and the jerseys were auctioned after the game, raising $16,175 for the aforementioned non-profit organizations. Additionally, a portion of ticket proceeds was collected along with donations at the game, totaling $9,135.

During the first intermission, Checkers owner Michael Kahn surprised Go Jen Go founder Jen Pagani with a check for $25,000 for her foundation. For more information on Jen and her story, visit www.gojengo.org.

Thanks to everyone who made this event a success!
