CHARLOTTE, NC—Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager Derek Wilkinson announced today the team’s 23-man roster for the 2010 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Checkers have also announced that tickets for Friday’s home contest are now on sale.

Defensemen Julien Brouillette and Jared Nightingale are currently with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack while forwards Mike Bartlett and Randy Rowe were returned to the Checkers from Lake Erie yesterday.

Game 1 – Tuesday, April 6 – Charlotte at Toledo, 7 p.m.
Game 2 – Wednesday, April 7 – Charlotte at Toledo, 7 p.m.
Game 3 – Friday, April 9 – Toledo at Charlotte, 7 p.m.
Game 4 (if necessary) – Sunday, April 11 – Toledo at Charlotte, 2 p.m.
Game 5 (if necessary) – Monday, April 12 – Toledo at Charlotte, 7 p.m.
The Checkers (43-21-8) will face Toledo in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs tonight and Wednesday before returning home for game 3 on Friday. Notes: Charlotte clinched its first division title and #1 conference seed in franchise history heading into the playoffs...the Checkers had the four largest crowds in the ECHL this season…Charlotte is 16-3-1 in its last 20 home games and 11-1-0 in the last 12 overall…Ryan Munce is 10-1-0 in his last 11 starts and finished the season ranked first in the ECHL in save percentage (.913) and third in wins (26)…Andrew Carroll led the Checkers this season with 30 goals, including six game winners.
