RALEIGH, NC—The Carolina Hurricanes announced today that they have signed goaltender Justin Pogge to a two-way contract.
Pogge, 24, posted a 13-7-5 record with a 2.55 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage in 27 AHL games with San Antonio and Albany. He also appeared in nine games with Bakersfield (ECHL), posting a record of 6-2-0 with a 2.69 goals-against average.
In 169 career AHL games with Toronto, San Antonio and Albany, Pogge is 84-63-16, with a 2.68 GAA.
Acquired by the Hurricanes on March 3, 2010, the native of Fort McMurray, Alberta played in seven NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008-09, and has a career NHL record of 1-4-1 with a 4.35 goals-against average. He was Toronto’s first choice, 90th overall, in the third round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
