HURRICANES TO PLAY EXHIBITION GAME IN CHARLOTTE
Carolina to host Thrashers at Time Warner Cable Arena on Sept. 25 at 5 p.m.
The Checkers, in conjunction with their parent club, the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that Time Warner Cable Arena will be the venue for an exhibition game between the Hurricanes and Atlanta Thrashers on Sept. 25.
Hurricanes president and general manager Jim Rutherford has declared that Canes stars Eric Staal, Jeff Skinner and Cam Ward will participate in the game, as well as Hurricanes prospects who have played for the Checkers this season.
Game time for the exhibition contest has been set for 5 p.m. and tickets start at just $20. A special pre-sale for Checkers season ticket holders will be held from July 6-8, and tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 12 via Ticketmaster (800-745-3000). Hurricanes season ticket holders will also get a pre-sale and will be notified by email the week of July 6.
Details will be released at a later date on a fan fest and community outreach event to be held on Saturday, September 24, in conjunction with the exhibition game.
