CANES INK BELLEMORE TO TWO-YEAR DEAL
Stay at home d-man was +8 for Checkers last season
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes announced today they have signed defenseman Brett Bellemore to a two-year, two-way contract.
Bellemore, 23, established career highs in goals (2), assists (8) and points (10), while ranking third among Checkers blueliners with a +8 rating in 2010-11, his second full pro season. He also added a goal and an assist in 16 playoff games.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Ontario native was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the sixth round (162nd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
