The Hurricanes essentially reversed their transaction from last week, simultaneously reassigning Drayson Bowman to Charlotte while recalling Zac Dalpe on Monday.
Bowman, the Checkers' leading goal scorer at the time of his recall with 5 (he has since been passed by Jerome Samson's 7) was held scoreless in two games with the Hurricanes. He played 5:15 and 8:37 in Carolina's losses to Washington and Dallas, respectively.
In his only two AHL games of the season, Dalpe, named to the league's All-Rookie team with the Checkers last season, also did not register a point since the initial swap with Bowman last Wednesday. On the AHL on a conditioning stint as he worked his way back to game speed following three weeks on the sideline with a lower-body injury, Dalpe appeared in the Checkers' games on Friday in Milwaukee and on Sunday in Rockford. He did not dress for the team's Saturday match-up in Grand Rapids.
Monday's move leaves the Checkers with 12 healthy forwards, although that number will likely increase when the team resumes practice on Tuesday.
