MARSHALL ASSIGNED; DIDIOMETE RECALLED

CHARLOTTE, NC—Charlotte Checkers general manager and head coach Derek Wilkinson announced today that forward David Marshall has been assigned by the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League and agitator Devin DiDiomete has been recalled to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack.

Marshall, 24, returns to the Checkers after spending the last four weeks with Lake Erie. In 14 games with the Monsters this season, he recorded two goals and an assist and added 11 minutes in penalties.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound rookie from Buffalo, Minn. played four seasons at Quinnipiac University prior to joining the professional ranks. He holds the school record for most goals in a career with 73 and longest point streak when he went 18 straight games with at least one point. The right-winger led the team in goals twice, including once as a rookie.

DiDiomete rejoins the Wolf Pack in Hartford after a six-game stint in Charlotte that saw him collect two goals, an assist and 46 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, the native of Stratford, Ontario notched 66 goals, 81 assists and added 736 penalty minutes over four seasons with Sudbury and Sarnia of the Ontario Hockey League.

The Checkers (9-3-2) will travel to Gwinnett for two games over Thanksgiving before returning home to host the Gladiators on Sunday, Nov. 29 (2 p.m.) and Wednesday, Dec. 2 (7 p.m.) at Time Warner Cable Arena.
