Participated in the 2011 U.S. Junior Team Evaluation Camp in August 2011 ... Was born in Columbus, OH, but grew up in Denver, CO before moving to Michigan at age 14 to be a part of the Compuware youth hockey program ... Signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Carolina on 3/16/12.

Completed his first professional season, split between the Checkers and their ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades ... Ranked fourth among Everblades’ defensemen in assists (13) and fifth in points (15) ... Started the season with the Everblades and made his professional debut vs. ORL (10/18) ... Recorded his first career point with an assist at ORL (10/19) ... Called up to Charlotte on 12/14 ... Made his AHL debut vs. NOR (12/15) ...
