April 3 Aidan Sutter Aidan has been a Mite at Extreme Ice Center for a year now. Prior to holding a stick on the ice he was dedicated to learning how to skate for 4.5 months. He is in the 3rd grade at Pine Lake Preparatory in Mooresville. Aidan volunteers on Thanksgiving Day morning with “Fry Boys” to help prepare, cook and deliver turkeys to several homeless and domestic abuse facilities. Aidan has an older brother and sister, three dogs and a pet snake, Dragon. He enjoys many sports including baseball, soccer, football and skiing; however, hockey is by far his favorite.
April 5 Robby Murray Robby plays hockey at the Extreme Ice Center as a Squirt. He practices there and in his spare time at home. He has scored and assisted this year and lives and breathes hockey. He has been going to Checkers games since he was 8 months old.  Robby is in the 4th grade and works very hard at his school work. He is younger than most kids in his class, but he studies and does his homework every day to make good grades. Robby has helped his mother deliver food to and visit with cancer patients and their families for the past 3 years.
April 7 Chase Murray Chase plays in the Metro League for the Mites. He is an incredible player and works very hard. He practices every day and loves the sport. Chase wants to be a goalie. He is in the first grade and is a wonderful student. He loves school and does very well.  Chase has helped his mother deliver food to and visit with cancer patients and their families for the past 3 years.
April 8 Jason Beck Jason started playing hockey at 3 years old. He now plays with the Extreme Ice Center Mites and is coached by former NHL player, Jason Dawe. Jason was chosen to be the “Terrific Kid” for the month of January 2012 in his first grade class at Antioch Elementary School. Jason is also an active student in the Faith Formation program at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.  He also participated in the 2012 United Way Charity hockey game with the Extreme Ice Center Mites.
March 21 Tristan Kai Hsin Tristan is learning to play hockey at the Extreme Ice Center. He is currently in the Five Star Program and is a Star 4: Aces. He learned the hockey stop at the young age of just 4 years old. Tristan speaks English, Mandarin and Spanish. He also takes the time to assist with fundraising at Christ Our Shepherd Ministries. 
March 20 Wes Sunderland Wes is an Extreme Ice Center Mite goalie and recently won his first Shootout challenge versus Chubby at a Checkers game this season. He is an exceptional student at Pine Lake Preparatory. He is very good at math and spelling and excels in his reading. Wes takes the time to help underprivileged children by donating his toys, books and school supplies. He has also earned his Red Stripe Belt at R.T. Berry School of Tae Kwon Do.
March 18 Mateo Cordell Mateo enjoys skating and Intro to Hockey at the Extreme Ice Center.  He enjoys playing baseball and hit two home runs in the league championship game last year.  Mateo also plays basketball and is on a swim team.  He is currently in the 2nd grade at Chantilly Montessori School and has run in a marathon to support cancer charities.
March 16 Wyatt Roach Wyatt participates in the Charlotte Metro Hockey Association and plays on the 2002 year Travel Team. He free skates for fun on most Friday nights. Wyatt is also a good student as he maintains an A/B average and is in the 4th grade at Alpine Elementary. He would like to someday go to Charlotte Catholic to play on their hockey team and then go on to Notre Dame. Wyatt is a parishioner at St. Gabe’s Church and participates in Faith Formation. Wyatt is an avid skier and spends many a weekend heading to Appalachian mountain during the winter.
March 11 Nicholas Ogden Nicholas is in his second season as a Mite at Extreme Ice Center. He is a 1st grader at Pleasant Knoll Elementary School and is an honor roll student. Nicholas loves school and playing hockey, but he also helps his dad, Firefighter Jay Ogden by volunteering where he can with the CFD.
March 10 Jake Crowley Jake participates in Learn to Play Hockey at the Pineville Ice House and loves anything to do with sports, especially playing hockey.  He gets A’s in school and is learning to speak Spanish. Jake is currently in kindergarten at Mooresville Christian Academy and has a big sister Ashley.
Feb. 25 Rohil Sabherwal Rohil plays defense for the Pineville Ice House Squirt Select Falcons. He is on the Math Olympiad Team and ranks in the 99th percentile in math. Rohil also donates his time and helps at the Crisis Assistance Ministry and Loaves and Fishes. He also enjoys helping other students in his class.
Feb. 24 Casey Meyer Even with a 70% hearing loss and bi-lateral hearing aids, Casey does not allow this to be a detriment. He has conquered his skating goals, going from limited skating abilities to ready for team skating. Casey's classroom grades are as high as his peers and he enjoys working with other children with disabilities.
Feb. 12 Ahaan Sabherwal Ahaan plays hockey for the CAHA at the Pineville Ice House.  He scored 3 goals in a row in the final Mini-Mite game of the season in the Peoria Youth Hockey League.  Ahaan plays violin for his class, as well as contributed to his 2nd grade coral reef project by making a lion fish. Ahaan also donates loaves for fishes as well as sings carols at elderly residences.
Jan. 27 Wyatt Lemmon Wyatt has been skating for less than a year, and now plays defense for the Pineville Falcons Squirt Select travel team.  He was instantly hooked on hockey after attending his first game just last season. Wyatt is in the 5th grade at Springfield Elementary and is on the Safety Patrol Team. Wyatt also helps raise money for the American Heart Association.
Jan. 26 Zachary Smith Zachary started skating at 3 years old. As soon as he could, he joined the Termites and has been playing hockey ever since. He is now at Mite at the Pineville Ice House. Zachary is in kindergarten and is excelling in his reading. He also puts in hours at Elevation Church with his family. He cannot wait until next year to join the Cub Scouts.
Jan. 17 Damon Smith Damon plays defense and forward for the Falcons at Pineville Ice House. He loves to play and is always ready to help out on the ice wherever he is needed. Damon was invited to join the National Junior Beta Club at his school. He also loves to read and enjoys science fiction and mystery books. Damon volunteers at Elevation Church and is a small group leader for Kindergarteners.
Jan. 15 Michael Currie Michael is a kindergartener at Polo Ridge Elementary School and is a member of the Shoe Tying Club. He plays in the Mite Program at the Extreme Ice Center and, over Thanksgiving, he was part of the team that won the Turkey Cup at Pineville Ice House. Michael was awarded the Personal Success Ribbon for gym class this first quarter. He gets involved in his community by helping to collect food for the Harvest Food Bank each year.
Jan. 12 Charlie Capitano Charlie started skating this summer and has graduated through all of his skating and hockey classes. He will start playing in the youth house league at Pineville Ice House this month. Charlie is a straight-A student at Myers Park Traditional Elementary and has been named good citizen of the week twice and good citizen of the month once. Charlie is also a very active member of his church, St. John’s Episcopal Church.
Jan. 11 Jay Capitano Jay learned to skate just this past summer and is now participating in the advanced house league at the Pineville Ice House.  He is a straight-A student at Myers Park Traditional Elementary and won the Principal’s Award and numerous good citizen awards.  He is also on the Chess Team.  Jay volunteers in the community at Room in the Inn for Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church.  He also assists in preparing meals for Stop Hunger Now.
Jan. 4 Ryan Lovelace Ryan is a 3rd grader and plays hockey at the Extreme Ice Center. He is respectful on and off the ice to his coaches, parents, officials and other players. He loves to play hockey and works hard not only in games but at practice as well. Ryan is a very caring student as well. He loves to help fellow students with anything they may need. He also helps in his community by making sure it is clean and danger free.
Jan. 3 Keaton Prevette Keaton plays hockey at Pineville Ice House and is a member of Carolina Amateur Hockey Association and USA Hockey.  He is a 6th grade student at Charlotte Country Day School and a Pop Warner All-American Scholar.  His favorite subjects are Science and Math. Keaton is also a member of the Boy Scouts of America and volunteers his free time at Room at the Inn for the homeless and at his church as a Youth Leader.
Dec. 20 Gabriel Steele Gabriel is a 2nd year Mite at the Extreme Ice Center.  He is a straight A student who is in the accelerated think program at MCA.  Gabriel is also actively involved in his church and visits assisted living centers to minister to the elderly.
Dec. 18 Brady Dobson Brady is fairly new to hockey but has passed through the development skating fundamentals at a rapid pace and has earned his pot on the Mite team at the Pineville Ice House.  Brady has achieved straight A’s his entire school career and is reading on a 2nd grade level while still in 1st grade.  Brady has volunteered his time to help out for the winter coat drive and has also donated toys to the women’s shelter.
Dec. 16 Danielle Aiello Danielle is a left wing on the Charlotte Metro League Bruins team at the Extreme Ice Center.  She attends Matthews Elementary School and has been accepted to the Duke University Talent Program.  She is also the student director for the school musical.  Danielle also supports food and clothing drives for the needy in the community.
Dec. 15 David Manning, Jr. David is a great student and was on the A/B honor roll all of last year, and has continued that this year.  David likes to play hockey and other sports at the YMCA.  He also helps the home association with their clean-up week as well as volunteers to read to other classrooms at his school.
Dec. 5 Mark Soudir Mark has just started out learning hockey and has participated in the Learn to Skate program at Extreme Ice.  He is currently in the 1st grade at McKee Road Elementary and loves math.  Mark also plays soccer for the YMCA of Charlotte and United FC.
Dec. 4 Tommy Raymond Tommy has been playing hockey since he was 4 years old.  He played with the Pineville Mites select team from 2010-2011 and is currently playing with with Mites at Extreme Ice Center.  He is a 2nd grader at Sharon Elementary and was the Character Award winner.  In addition to playing hockey, Tommy is also a High Greenbelt and Blackbelt Club Member at the Charlotte Martial Arts Academy and has donated Halloween candy to soldiers in Afghanistan as well as raised money for "Homeless Kitties of Charlotte."
Dec. 3 Christopher Soudir Christopher plays hockey at the Extreme Ice Center and has participated in their Learn to Skate and Learn to Play Hockey programs.  He is currently in the 4th grade at McKee Road Elementary and loves math.  Christopher is also excellent in soccer and plays for Charlotte United.
Nov. 30 Jacqueline Aiello Jacqueline plays hockey at the Extreme Ice Center and is on the Boston Bruins house Squirt team.  She is currently in the 4th grade at Matthews Elementary and enjoys math.  Jacqueline was selected as a Terrific Kid and also participates in the school writing club, as well as Girls on the Run.
Nov. 27 Michael Bartkowski Michael just turned 6 years old and has been playing hockey for the last 2 years. He loves both playing and watching hockey.  Michael is in the 1st grade and loves going to school to learn and be around his friends. He is doing a great job learning how to read.  Besides playing hockey, Michael is very active in his community playing baseball, football and soccer as well as with his church.
Nov. 26 Patrick Bramlett Patrick has been skating since he was 3 years old and currently plays for the Mite Select Falcons.  Patrick is in the 2nd grade and loves to go to school.  Patrick continues to excel and is reading at a very high level.  Patrick also plays soccer and stays very active in his community.
Nov. 20 Joshua Weiner Joshua is 6 years old and has been playing hockey for the Jr. Checkers Mite Select team for a year now.  Josh is a 1st grader at Cox Mill Elementary School and is part of the Math Superstars as well as on Honor Roll.  Josh has also spent time raising money for Breast Cancer by volunteering his time to Bet on a Cure Golf Outings at Skybrook Golf Club.
Nov. 18 Jacob Luce Jacob plays hockey for the Charlotte Metro Squirt team as well as the Jr. Checkers Squirt House Select team.  He is in the 3rd grade at Pine Lake Prep and is working very hard towards the honor roll this year.  When Jacob is not playing hockey he is wrestling for the Blue Devils Wrestling Club.  Jacob also raises money for the MDA every year and participates in the Salvation Army Kettle Bell ringing with his family.
Oct. 23 Jack Fickenscher Jack has played Mite youth hockey for 3  years.  He is currently in the 1st grade at First Assembly Christian School and is a straight A student.
Oct. 22 Finn Rissanen Finn has advanced to Advanced Youth Hockey as a Squirt after playing hockey for only 18 months. He is in the third grade at Elizabeth Lane Elementary and has raised $150 for the Ronald McDonald House by selling lemonade.
Oct. 21 Caden Austin Caden has played on the Mite youth hockey team at Extreme Ice Center for the past 2 years.  He is currently in the 1st grade and on the honor roll at Carolina International School and was named Student of the Month.  Caden has also volunteered at the Salvation Army Center of Hope.
Oct. 16 Austin Lawrence Austin plays for the Falcons Mite Select Team and has been playing hockey since he was three years old. He is a very good student at Gold Hill Elementary and is on the Carolina Show Ski Team that is involved in raising money for charities.
Oct. 15 Cameron Lawrence Cameron plays on the Squirt Jr. Checkers and has been playing hockey since he was four years old. He is on the Honor Roll at Gold Hill Elementary and is the youngest barefoot skier on the Carolina Show Ski Team, which raises money for charity.
