In addition to her current role of director of community relations and marketing, Adkins has also held the titles of marketing and community relations coordinator, directory of community relations/marketing manager and director of community relations and merchandise/marketing manager with the Checkers since joining the organization in 2007.

Adkins' primary responsibilities include the coordination and facilitation of event planning of on- and off-ice events. She is responsible for providing website updates of various special events, attending player appearances and creating programs to increase revenue for Checkmate Charities. In addition, she maintains the organization's merchandise and is the main contact for donation, appearance and autograph requests.
