After a stellar showing on the road, Morgan Geekie has been named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week.
The 21-year-old Geekie racked up seven points (4g, 3a) in four games last week, leading all AHL skaters over that stretch. That includes his first career hat trick, recorded in Hershey on Sunday as Geekie helped the Checkers take down the division-leading Bears.
Geekie is the first Checker to earn the league’s weekly honor this season and is the 11th in franchise history. The last Charlotte player to take home the award was Martin Necas in December of last season.
