The Seattle Kraken bolstered their depth with a pair of signings Wednesday night, agreeing to terms with forward Alex True and defenseman Connor Carrick to one-year, two-way deals.
True, who was the Kraken’s selection from San Jose in the recent expansion draft, has five points (0g, 5a) in 19 career NHL games with the Sharks and 128 points (59g, 69a) in 203 career AHL games with the San Jose Barracuda. The 24-year-old native of Denmark spent the majority of last season with the Barracuda, tying for third on the team in goals, assists and points, while also appearing in seven NHL contests for the Sharks.
Carrick, 27, has logged 49 points (13g, 36a) in 241 career NHL games with New Jersey, Dallas, Toronto, and Washington and 83 points (20g, 63a) in 158 career AHL games with Binghamton, Texas, Hershey and Toronto. A fifth-round pick by Washington in 2012, Carrick is a two-time AHL All Star and led the entire 2016 AHL playoffs in scoring with 18 points (7g, 11a) in 15 games. The Illinois-born blue liner split the 2020-21 campaign between New Jersey and Binghamton, with his 13 AHL games standing as his longest tenure at the level since 2015-16.
