The Checkers have made a swap at goalie, recalling Daniel Altshuller from Florida and assigning Rasmus Tirronen to take his spot with the Everblades.

This marks the second AHL recall of Altshuller's career. The second-year pro spent three games backing up John Muse last December when Drew MacIntyre went to take part in the Spengler Cup but did not see any game action.

The 21-year-old has been having a stellar sophomore campaign in the ECHL for the Florida Everblades. Altshuller has put up a 10-3-0 record in 14 appearances and leads the league in goals-against average (1.58), save percentage (.941) and shutouts (3). He was named ECHL Goaltender of the Month for November and has helped backstop the Everblades to the top of the Western Conference standings.

Heading to Florida is Tirronen, who has seen his fair share of action in Charlotte early on in his rookie season. The netminder has gone 4-2-0 in eight appearances for the Checkers. This will be his first stint in the ECHL, where he should see some ice time alongside Checkers-signee Anthony Peters, who has been splitting starting duties with Altshuller for the Everblades.
