Clark Bishop is headed back to the NHL as the Hurricanes have recalled the center from Charlotte.

Bishop, who has appeared in all three of the Checkers’ playoff games so far, recorded six points (3g, 3a) in 38 AHL games this season.

The Newfoundland native made his NHL debut this year and logged 20 games for Carolina with three points (1g, 2a) under his belt. Bishop was recalled on an emergency basis during Carolina’s first-round series against Washington but was sent back to Charlotte when Jordan Martinook was able to play in Game 6.

The Checkers hold a 2-1 lead in their best-of-five first-round series against Providence and host the Bruins for Game 4 Friday. The Hurricanes are in action on Friday as well as they kick off their second-round series in Brooklyn.
