Carolina’s final restricted free agent is back on board as the Hurricanes have inked Phil Di Giuseppe to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 23-year-old has spent at least part of each of his first three pro seasons with the Checkers, totaling 77 points (31g, 46a) in 144 games. Di Giuseppe logged most of last season with Charlotte, tying for sixth on the team in scoring and netting a career-high 12 goals despite only appearing in 40 games.

At the NHL level, the former second-round pick has 24 points (8g, 16a) in 77 games with the Hurricanes, including notching seven points (1g, 6a) in 36 contests a season ago.
